SO it seems like a really long time since I've posted here. It's not that I haven't wanted to, its that I have been busy with another project... one with strobe lights and techno...
No, I wasn't time traveling to the 80's, I was throwing a dance party. My IST 110 class is ending this week, and one of our final projects was throwing an event in the virtual world of Second Life. The job: to record the event and enshrine it on the internet as a great time for ever and ever. So for the last 72 hours, I have eaten, slept and drank this website, the result.
After spending 4 hours prepping and creating the website from Tuesday to Thursday morning, the true work began. The Dance Party happened, and with it came a tsunami on my email of over 120 pictures taken. So for 7 hours I worked on uploading them to flickr.com - giving them all names, descriptions, and tags. Who knew that flickr had an upload limit per month?
I slept from 7 am on Friday to 8:55 Friday - quick power nap - and went to class. It was hard work, but well worth it. I met with Mr. DuBois, a man hired by IST that markets our college to potential investors and incoming freshman. He was very interested in our "shindig" and wanted information for his campaigns. After seeing my work on the website, he was very pleased. Job well done, I guess...
Anyways, now I may return to Techno-Geekdom with full force. Be ready.
