My buddy Bob from back home has a Macbook Pro. He needs it for his major (not to give away his life story, but he's an artist of sorts) and it naturally comes standard with Garage Band. This is a pretty sick program, that I want to pay homage to while my roommate is gone and I have nothing to do...
My brother wants the family to buy a Mac for one reason: Garage Band. Why? He's also a guitarist and a lyricist and the front of a band and I could go on and on... This program allows you to build slash record lots of unique multi-layered tracks for his band, solo album, or anything.
After taking up the piano independently, Bobby taught himself to play a wide variety of mellow self-written tunes. Now he is in college, and with Garage Band, recording possible future songs and emailing them to me, asking me to write lyrics for it so he can really polish this one for his album. Whether this program is used for a band, for fun, or for your profession, it uses music to really bring out the possibilities!
As a side not, I find it terribly ironic that Bob asks me now to write poetry for his lyrics, when for so long he laughed at my poetry being used for gifts to my various girlfriends over the years. Well Bob, listen up:
Merry Christmas. I'll write your lyrics.
P.S. Thanks Garage Band for letting me see his artistic vision form several hundred miles away.
